Stieg Larsson

Vanger clan

Having read the trilogy twice I thoroughy enjoyed the film. It was not entirely faithful to Steig Larsson’s original but to involve the intracies of some of the plot would have meant a much longer film that the 2.3 hours at the moment. The subtle introduction of some characters who appear in the second and third books but in consequential to the plot was clever even if only noticeable to the afficiionado. e.g. his sister appears very briefly and the staff of mIllenium even less. Milton security again flashes on the screen early on but does not re-appear. I would hazard a guess that those who have not read the book may have been a little confused by the number of characters especially of the Vangar clan. The cinematography gives the impression of being done slightly on the cheap but this is not a travel movie. The grittiness of the sex and violence is breathtaking at times and the revenge meted out to her guardian by Lisbeth has a feel good to it. Cant wait for the next one.
