How did the Forbes couple fit into the story

At the beginning of the second book there seemed to be a lot of detail spent on the character of Dr Forbes and his wife who shared residence at the Keys Hotel. I was expecting, similar to first book when the Wennerström issues were closed of at the books finish, that there would be some tie in with Forbes somewhere (despite his demise).

Am I missing something? Or did others find that this inclusion in the story served a purpose?

Perhaps I when I read the third book, it will somehow come to light. The second book was obviously written to leave a lot of unanswered questions to draw in readers to read the third.

  1. Wow…good call Cindy. I just think Larrson wanted to show Lisbeth’s moral code & to show she can’t escape trouble, no matter where she is in the world.

  2. Ok, here we go. I’m from the gulf coast. We get hit by hurricanes all of the time, and tornadoes and waterspouts come with hurricanes. It’s not uncommon, just look it up.

  3. Folks, tornadoes over water are real. They’re called “waterspouts” and we see them in the Gulf of Mexico now and then. They are “sea tornadoes,” if you will. Rev. Forbes was a “man who hated women” and he got his from Lisbeth, who hates men who hate women.

  4. Remember, Stieg’s partner Eva, has a draft of the 4th book in the series… This would probably be explained then, if we ever get to see it at all. It all boils down to wether the father and brother of Stieg will let her.

  5. I’m glad I read this before finishing the second book. I, too, expected there to be a conclusion to the Forbes’ drama. I’ve been waiting and waiting for something else to be said about it. It’s good to know that there is no conclusion and that I can put it out of my head.
