All the evil
I don’t understand what all the evil means… Lisbeth’s father abused her mom, but why do they call it like that in the book? its just weird.

“All the evil”: the events triggered by her attempt to kill Zala when she was still a young girl. Her being confinded to a psychiatric clinic, tortured and abused by Teleborian on top of the bargain. Tough call for a 13-year-old, don’t you think?
But maybe that’s a translation flaw. “Allt det onda” in the Swedish original indicates that a lot of bad things happened.

It is a tough call for a 13-year-old. However, I thought "All The Evil" pointed toward when Bjurman was Salander's legal guardian. Bjurman would record video of him raping Lisabeth.
Martin in Frankfurt basically answered smack down your question!

Anyone think maybe it doesn’t refer to the Zala situation? Perhaps it could be for whatever situation that caused her to get the dragon tattoo. Just a thought.

That is what I'm thinking. My theory is that it could have something to do with Bjurman and that's why Salander tattooed "I am a sadistic pig, a pervert, and a rapist" on Bjurman's abdomen.
That could be true SCPW. Never thought of that

Where compulsory care of Salander tantamount to modern slavery when she was sexually abused and deprived of their right of disposal over he inheritance, which amounted to several million Swedish crowns? Indeed this would be “all the evil”.

I'm listening to book 2 right now. "All the evil" happened before she turned 12 and led to she and her sister being separated and Elizabeth being institutionalized. I'm not clear if what happened during the "All the evil" time resulted in her mother's condition.
