David Fincher – Director of the Millenium seriesDavid Fincher was born 1962 in Denver Colorado. At the age of 8 he started making his own film, using an 8mm camera. After high school, at the age of 18 he eschewed starting at film school and instead he started working for smaller studios and film companys doing simple jobs like loading camera equipment. He moved between jobs a lot and eventually hired by Industrial Light & Magic, a company working with visual effects. He was one of the cast members behind Star Wars VI – The Return of the Jedi. After getting a job directing a commercial he decided to move the Los Angeles and try his luck in Hollywood. Producers in the business started hearing about Fincher and he was appointed to direct music videos and documentaries. His real breakthrough came with Alien 3. Since then he has made many films that are often high ranked on toplists over best movies ever made. David Fincher’s films are ofter described as dark and griddy thrillers. Besides Alien 3 Fincher has also directed:

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

David Fincher directed the Hollywood version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Together with producer Scott Rudin and writer Steven Zaillian Fincher finished production in 2011. Both Fincher and Steven Zaillian, together with lead actors Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara  are signed on to the whole triogy. They are all going to be shot back to back.
