Who is who in the Millenium Thrilogy?
I have dedicated this thread to elaborate over the different characters in the Millenium Thrilogy as to who they are or to which “clan” they belong and suggest keys to how to understand nominations as for instance the MC-gang Svavelsjö MC.

Product placement?
I have now read all these three books (in Finnish), and I have to say I really liked them. SL’s language and style of writing are nothing exceptional, but the stories are fascinating.
However, I’m kind of surprised with the amount of product placement in these books. It seriously bo ... Read more

Why Stieg used fake airline route (e.g., a flight from London to Canberra?? – all flights down under going to Sydney instead!) and also fake airline code – I think he used GD for Lufthansa, everybody knows its LH)?

Other books mentioned in his series
Stieg Larsson mentions numerous other mysteries that Blomkvist is reading in the millenium series. I am wondering if anyone has looked any up, has a list etc… so I can do the same. I borrowed the books, have now given them back and didn’t have the foresight to write down the titles before I r ... Read more

Overrated
It’s hard to believe Larsson was the second best selling author in the world in 2008. There were some nice parts of the story line and Lisbeth is a compelling character but almost all the other characters were dull and the dialogue was often wooden or plain unnatural. Time and again he proved t ... Read more
Should the books be read in chronological order?
I had put the first and secomnd book on hold at my local library. After a long wait I finally got my hands on one of them, but it is the second book ‘ The girl who played with fire’. I’m now hesitant to starrt it though, without having read the first one. Is it better to read them in order or does it not matter which one I read first. Should I wait for the first one?

Question about the second book
Why didn’t Salander’s dad try to kill her a lot sooner? He knew where she lived her whole life. Did he think she was in an asylum?

Eva be strong
Disgusting news that the family does not want to share the profits with Eva… she had to live with him! I have a feeling that was extremely difficult. To the family members… give Eva her share before the lawyers get it. Really odd that this is happening in Sweden… where is the equality?

What Will Lisbeth Do With All That Money?
If we start off defining $1 billion as 1,000 times 1 Million, Lisbeth has used a minuscule amount of that money.
I figure when she arrived back in Stockholm off the Oslo train, she had the following:
49 Million Kronor in Cayman Island Bank
1 Million Kronor on her Wasp Credit Card
10% of the bonds cashed into currency and placed in 30 numbered accounts in 9 private Swiss Banks
90% of the bonds–still physically bonds in a security deposit box in one of the private Swiss banks (I think that 90% represented over 2 billion kronor)

“modernising” original script during translation
When I bought the books I searched for some information inside about the translation, who did it, and did the same person “modernise” the story to include all the modern dates and computer references etc. I found myself doubting the validity of a story written in the 1940's/50's that included ...
