The legacy
Controversy surrounding the legacy
Stieg Larsson spent 32 years of his life with the architect Eva Gabrielsson. However, they never married, maybe due to Stieg’s dangerous work at the Expo-foundation. They did not have any children, and Stieg left no written will, so according to Swedish law, Stieg’s estate was inherited by his father and brother. This sparked a dispute between Eva Gabrielsson and Stieg’s relatives. She claims that they “were never a part of our lives” and that they are not the right persons handling Stieg’s estate.
A fact complicating the matter is that Eva has the laptop with the partly finished script for the fourth book in the Millenium series. And she will not publish the script unless she is given the full rights to manage the novels in the Millenium series, the novels which she and Stieg worked with together. However, Stieg’s father and brother has not been willing to meet this amend, and this has resulted in a stalemate which has lasted the five years since Stieg’s death.
The most recent event took place when Stieg’s father and brother in an interview with a newspaper offered Eva a final settlement of € 2 million. She rejected the offer, saying that it is not the money she is after, but the legal rights to administrate the literary property of Stieg.
So the stalemate continues, and the final words have not been said.

Situations like what’s happening to Eva is why the ring on her finger and document that states Certificate of Marriage is so important. As the old saying goes Money brings out the worst in people. I’m so sorry for you Eva, you invested many years with him.
- John R. Shevsky,
Definitely…Bring on #4…
- lizzardcat,
It is the same book. I don’t know why they changed it to “the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” in English, I like the Swedish title better!
- Åsne, Norway,
I just finished the trilogy—– a magnificent read!
TThey are greedy pigs! Eva, im on your side!

EVA,
The world wants book 4. Please compromise and finish it and publish it. Lizbeth is a great character and I long to know her fate. You will make enough money from the 4th book to compensate for the Larsson families thick-headedness.
Thank you.
- M. Asher,
what if this had just been the person who co
-wrote the books should they still not have some rights it should have nothing to do with the ring on the finger it could have been his best budy thenwhat?it is unjust and has nothing to do with the importance of marriage.
- D Eltheringtion,
unbeleivable that a father and brother could be so disrespectful to and of the life mate and work partner that no matter what they say thier son and brother chose. If I had know this prior to reading the books I would not have read them on principle. They seem to have no idea what principles are and the Stieg spent his life fight for them.
- D Eltherington,
Her problems make a Good argument for marrying your soul mate.
- Miriam McCue,
yes.. we do want it.
- Miriam McCue,
Eva–
Hold out—– let those greedy bastards rot. I am all for you.
- Sharon,
we would kill fora fourth book, where’s the hacker republic when you need it
- P DiCarlo,
Tragic!!! I really hope this gets resolved some day… cannot believe the selfishness of his family, who clearly are unable to write the rest of the series themselves and would deny the completion of their son’s life work. So wrong.
- Sarah,
Larsson’s family…are they Vanger descendants?? I’m just saying…
I couldn’t agree more! She is the rightful owner. Shame on those two “family” members for their selfish greed.
- K. Coronado,
I believe that the Swedish govt. need to clearly change their laws, as I’m sure this happens a lot. I feel it very unfair on Stieg Larsson’s life long companion! However, I firmly believe in the old motto, “what goes around comes around”, nothing good will come from this where his family are concerned, history tells us that it doesn’t. This woman clearly deserves a break.
- Catherine,
Pity the ‘family’ havent any morals. The Swedish laws are so unfair to let this happen to you, when you have spent all those years with sStieg, especially when you helped him to write such great books. I hope things work out for you, and you can release the 4th Milleneum. I am 73, and have not read anything as gripping in years. Wonderfull series.
- Bernice Lincs UK,
Good one!
- sue johnson,
There is, no doubt, the potential for a vast sum of money to be made should the series continue, written and controlled by Eva. To those who suspect it is her only aim, I would point out that if you are a peson who understands writing–the obsession with it, the need to tell the story, the way a story will control you and write itself–you would understand completely why she would want to finish the story and safeguard his work. I am new to the books, and to Mr. Larsson’s life. Was she still his life partner at his death? After 32 years? If so, then whatever Swedish law says…Stieg’s law says that his life and his work were shared with this woman, not with his biological family, and they were married in the eyes of God (or, if you are an Atheist, then in the eyes of Society) and they have no right to take it from her. I hope that she will hold out for control of the work; the money is immaterial. He had an important–not merely entertaining–story to tell, and I would like to hear it to its conclusion. I wish that I could write such a thing…but the story has never come to me! All the best to those who care for him, and his work.
- Daneen – USA,
How can a man who refused to look after his son when he was young now dictate about his estate. Also in view of the fact he didn’t receive the threats that Stiegs life time partner shared with him.
Where is the logic except the father and brother are lazy and want a life of luxary supported by a disowne3d son!
sounds like the father and brother would fit in very well with the vanger family.
- martin,
He done her wrong. But, she should have known better after thirty some years and protected herself and her holdings; in case something like this should happen. Maybe she tried and he refused her. If that were the case she should have been aware she was going to get screwed. I would never let go of the rights,
- Lisa Jones ,
Conspiracy theory? Where would you get such ideas?
- Lynn,
Is it possible that Steig didn’t really have a “heart attack”
- Margaret ,
I wholeheartedly concur. Appalling behaviour by Stiegs greedy heartless family. Their mistreatment in ignoring Eva after Stiegs untimely death is reprehensible. Hope Eva finds peace love success and happiness in future. Hope Stiegs father and brother burn in infernal hellfire for eternity. Eva, you are brave strong and inspiring. Father and brother of Stieg, you are weak greedy pathetic cretins.
- Matthew Taylor. Australia.,
Just as in the books, Swedish law is really messed up. Could anything less be expected from an entitlement based nanny-state??
- RusB,
Has it occured to you that neither of them had even considered he’d be dead by 50. Most people don’t plan on leaving so quickly
Please, please, please settle this and allow Mr. Stieg’s millions of fans enjoy his last book. Don’t you think that is what he would have wanted?
- Becky Armstrong,
…seems to me the greed is mostly one-sided with Steig’s family. Eva was a co-author & should have some legal recourse & part ownership in the literary property.
- TiJon Chaos,
My advice to the father and brother is DO THE RIGHT THING!
Any assets are not and never were yours. Too bad Lisbeth isn’t on the case!!
We all want to read the final novel!
- Susan Sarra Kelly,
Swedish law, as stupid as French law…..
Good luck Eva.
- steve,
Wow! As intriguing and exciting as the books themselves! Just finished the second book, and, there is actually a fourth book?
- Ram Layson,
As much as i would love to read the rest of books, i really don’t think another person should ever finish an individuals work regardless of circumstances. I do hope that his loved ones can come together!
how can anyone in the world accept what is rightfully due to a man (or woman)s life partner of 32 years.? answer greed and lack of any decency.
as for swedish law read the trilogy and understand how out of touch the swedish lawmakers are with needs and wishes of the people
- ,
Take care of business people. This is a lesson.
- db,
If what Gabrielsson says is true concerning Larsson’s father and brother, (and I’ll bet dollars to doughnuts it is) then shame on them for indulging their piggy little sensibilities.
- Nancy K.,
Dig your heels in Eva.
People often know (within their heart’s) what is the right thing to do. The parents should give Eva control of the literary property. If money is a big issue for them, I’m sure that Eva could do the right thing and contribute to their income. Pride and ego so often get in the way.
- Lorraine Gilmore USA,
the rights and work belong to Eva.. and let the novel come to all of us waiting …
the rights belong to Eva, she was her woman for 35 years, besides, stieg was a strong women rights defender, he is for sure revolting in his grave right now, with his woman´s situation
have you ever lived with someone for 32 years???have your partner ever been completely different than his/her family almost like they weren’t family????I can tell you that I have been living with my patner for 20 years not married and he is so different than his family almost not related!!but at least they never sent him to live with his grandparents, they stay in touch with him often…come on why would she hand over loptop? because that is the legal thing to do?…what about Expo…was he ever taken care of after threats for exposing bad doings??? get a grip on reality
- cecy,
Definitely, greed on the part of the father and brother! No point in saying that they should be embarrassed …
- JOB,
STupid Swedish law!!!! Dig in Eva, as much as I would love to get my hands on the 4th book. Stieg’s father and brother got everything else even thou they weren’t a part of his life when he was alive. Greed sure is UGLY!!!! You deserve better then you are getting from those two, shame on them!
- USA,
What happened to common sense, surely, the person who has helped to write a book, is entitled to a say in how it should be controlled. as Stieg’s partner, she should be given part of the Estate, and the rights to the books.
- D,Lancaster,
This is certainly a lesson to all of us who have positive net financial worth to write a will so that undeserving people will not benefit from our work and saving.
- Jim,
For God’s sake this whole issue is maddening. If Steig (God Rest Him) was able to talk he’d wish for his life long partner to continue his work and no doubt would want her to take care of his literary legacy. Writing novels is a long and tiring process for all concerned and certainly Eva would have been there for Steig in the good and bad times. I hope that Eva prevails.
- Catherine,
Loved the books, movies and the remake. Would love we the 4th novel finished.
Typical author….sloppy with the personal details.
The standoff between Eva and family is sad. She co-wrote the novels and loved with Stieg for all those years only to be parted at death.
The family should make a more generous arrangement with Eva and also grant her control.
They are clearly not the ones to publish the final novel.
Stop being so mean spirited and do what Stieg would have wanted.
The greed is very unbecoming.
Good luck Eva.
- Ed from Canada,
Loved the millenium trilogy and passed it on to friends and family, how sad that there is so much anguish following his death.
I feel sorry that with no will this happened. Morally she should be entitled to one third the estate and considering the work they did together on the books should have the rights to his literary work. My personal opinion.
I agree! He really was – it’s Eva’s right to do as she will with the Millenium books as SHE and Steig wrote them together. Nothing to do with his brother/father.
- H,
i find it very difficult to understand why S Larsson did not write a will! this boggles the mind. Larsson had many threats on his life! both he and Eva were targeted for and had had fiend killed in the past! he also knew the Swedish law system! he knew these event his loved ones find themselves in was possible!
- Jchip,
I have just finished reading third book of the ‘trilogy’. I would just love to read the final one…. Does anyone else see it as rather ironic about the vilians in the books being greedy woman haters and the behaviors of Stiegs family????
But Eva, like the unrelenting journalists in your and Stieg’s novels couldn’t you bring yourself to finish and publish the fourth book—if nothing else in honor of the work that you and Stieg put towards it—at least you could have control over that book, if control is what you need.
- M. Brandner,
Please publish the fourth book.
I think it would be a great honor to Stieg if a reporter took up his murder mystery. I think that money may have exchanged hands between Stieg’s brother and the chief of police. Best placce to start? Check Stieg’s brother’s bank account, then the chief’s or head detective on the case.
- JVR,
Will watching is a motive for his brother. I think the police arent trying hard enough to find out what really happened to Stieg. And for that maybe the police shold be investigated as well.
- JVR,
The family should not have any rights to the estate. It should go to Eva. Marriage laws should be abolished. It is unfair to people that sees no need to institutionalize oneself if one is sure of the love and commitment.
- ACM/,
Let her have control. She and Stieg were the ones involved with the stories. Family can be real pains in the ass. I know this first hand.
- HLS,
eva should have control, she was his wife in all but name
- c kelly,
she is alive
- zongezile,
The so-called father and brother are not fit to be called that. They have stolen Stieg’s most valuable possesion from his rightful heir! Be patient Eva justice will prevail!
Families become evil when it comes to inheritances especially when there is no Will! This evil is driven by greed, covetousness and avarice. It is disgusting, but I have seen this type situation before…I hope the Father and Brother will get their just deserts!
After all these years, has no one in this world learned anything about love? Who a person spends their life with is their family, especially in death. No wonder Mr. Larsson didn’t have his father and brother in his life. Too bad he didn’t realize how they would act and protect his woman accordingly. If all she wants is the rights to the books that she was part of creating, they should give it to her in his memory. Their actions show what kind of character they have. It is a real shame and she should know that their fans are behind her. They are probably the inspiration for some of his awful, terrible characters in his books. The world knows your right.
- Kahty Johnson, Tennesee,
Can someone please explain why so gifted a person could/would not leave a proper will in order to keep his loved one from this years- long pain?
I just finished the series; what awesome writing that has filled many hours of reading.
Eva, I hope you gain full control of every thing Stieg had, you are/were his partner in life and love!
Everyone must have a will – my daughter just died without one causing great problems with her ex-husband. I am now attempting to get her assets back for her minor son – see site Aimees Bill
Thank you for collaborating with Stieg, a look forward to the next book published under your name.
Thank you,
Randall
- Randall Ellis,
The second sentence should be “they” not “the”
I’ve just Read the first two Books in The Trilogy and am about to begin the Epic Conclusion. I hope that everything works out and at the very least the 4th Book gets Published, it is Phenomenal Work. My personal opinion is Eva definitely deserves The Exclusive Rights to Manage The Series, not only because she was his Soul Mate but also because it was a shared Literary and she is The Possessor of The Manuscript for The 4th Book.
- Tom Martin,

Sounds like a saga for a fifth book. I do hope all is resolved as I have just finished the enthralling trilogy. Eva I send my best wishes for a better than expected outcome. regards from Australia
- Helen Herbel,
It is a travesty of justice that Stieg’s father and brother have stolen his estate from his partner of over 30 years. The father KNOWS that his son wanted his estate to go to his girl friend, it is criminal and unforgivable that they use a technicality of law to deprive his rightful heir. They must not of really loved their son/brother, or they would want to fulfill his wishes rather than profit from a loophole.
- cj,
I know that in MO, US that you have to share the same address for 7 years.
- Mandy,
I didn’t know anything about him until Investigative Discovery covered his story in the series “THE WILL.” I hv it recorded & going 2 watch now.
- cocoabutterfine,
Guess he should have married her!
- Me,
the greatgreed virus is in us all and it blooms when it comes to money and death usually brings it out when the money the table.the greed is a very infectious illness and steig,s father and brother are a prime example.
- dermot donegan snr,
I have read hundreds of fiction books. The Millenium series are the best books I have ever read. Please get the 4th book printed. To hide this book is like Knocking down Stone Henge to make a car park!
- G. Fox,
i think he was bumped off.i bet he didnt have a history of heart problems!
- you ndont need it,
The father and brother should give all of the literary rights and let Eva Gabrielleson manage all of Stieg’s literary business, since the father and brother never wanted anything to do with Stieg or Eva before Stieg’s death. All Stieg’s father and brother care about anyway is causing trouble for Eva and anyone else and they only care about the money of the late Stieg Larsson. The way I see it, since Eva and Stieg both wrote the books together, the copyright belongs to Stieg and Eva both and not the father and brother. They have no rights to the literary works of Stieg and Eva.
- Mr. Get With Reality!,
This is so wrong and lives up to the message of abuse to women in Sweden in so many ways. Swedish laws seriously need an overhaul they are primitive at best.
GO EVA!
- L McRorie,
I have just read the girl with the dragon tattoo and the girl who kicked the hornets nest from the liabrary and they were rivetting, just waiting for the gil who played with fire from the library, I saw the girl with the dragon tattoo and I had to watch it until it was finished last night, It was a thrilling experiece.
- Caroline Allin,
My point was/is that obviously in Sweden ‘kisses’ in an e
-mail equals as much as 32 years of a shared life !!!! I think NOT…..
- Barbara Sexton, London,
I am addicted and only half way through first book. Please sort out the rights issue, I will be hanging out there for that 4th book.
- Ian Ray,
ive read alot of books but these three are awesome, im up to ‘the girl that kicked the hornets neat’ and cant wait to get started. good luck to you eva
What a nightmare, lesson: write a will.
- Mark Chisnell,
my opinion is,that of course she (his companion) has the right to control the work she and he did in his lifetime.
- kurt lowy,
I have gone from start to finish on these books and I just did not want the last one to end. All I will say that I really want to start again and take it slower this time, but I will wait a little longer. Absolutely stunning books. His death was a great tragedy and Eva has every right to stand up for their rights. I hope I am still alive when the 4th book finally gets published.
- Val Batty,
A literary genius with a compelling mind in storytelling. How we readers have enjoyed Larsson’s work. I think its fabulous that another 4th book is to be published in 2015.
- jas,
Started Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and can hardly put it down. Cannot wait to get to the next book. Have not felt this way about a book in years! What fantastic writing. If Eva had a hand in composing this, then she has every right to the profits.
I find it very strange that Stieg Larsson didn’t have a will. And to think that a country so forward thinking as Sweden is so backwards in it’s laws regarding women. Thank god for Canadian Laws.
Who is going to write the book about “the death of Stieg Larsson”?
The amount of money that was made from the first three books was over the top, someone will write
it and I’m a rotten write. Come Eva start writing.
Who was the person that did the translation for the first two books, great job.
I had a stroke five years ago so I can reread the books very six months or so. What a great plus.
- anne richardson,
have just finished 3rd book, thank god i was staying up way way too late for the past week reading the trilogy! now you tell me there could be a 4th in the making..yay. As for 20 000 000 sold world wide ,just imagine how many have really read it..I got mine second hand, library etc and will be passing them on to family with strict instructions that they return lol. just for the record Eva should get full control ,hang in there Eva, but not too long cause im a greedy reader and i want more!

Ditto ditto dditto all the comments about these great books.
Also Write a Will!! (I haven’t – stupid me)
and Get Married! There are all sorts of ways where cohabiting couples are very vulnerable financially. Also, if one partner is in hospital and unable to say what he/she wants. other family members are able to stop you visiting, have a say in funeral arrangements etc. etc. Living together is NOT the same legally as being married.
- Lynn Baxter,
Agree
- Leila liples,
I agree completely with the above! It’s been a while since I read a book so I started slowly with the first one. I didn’t see the first movie as the title (weird, I thought) didn’t appeal to me then. I had no idea what the movie “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” was about and concluded it was made for young people. Luckily, my son gave me the trilogy for Christmas. Now I’ve read the three books and they’re simply amazing! I was “nursing” the latter part of the third book as I didn’t want it to end, knowing there was no 4th book. I really mourn for Stieg Larsson! I felt such an attachment to the author while reading. Yes, I’m reading them again but more slowly. I feel as though we readers have been orphaned.
- Marna Veloso,

YES!!!!!
- D Eltherington,
we should not forget that steig larsson didn´t get the success and profit out of his book because he died before book no. 1 was published. he surely didn´t expected to die and for this reason (and the reason that there wasn´t a big amount of money to bequeathe) he had no current matter to leave a will!
- Jennifer from Germany,
This stalemate is completely ridiculous. Eva should get the rights to Steig’s estate. If his father and brother had nothing to do with him, then their greed is completely withholding the progression of a great legacy.

dangerous work at the Expo-foundation.
I hate Stieg’s brother and father. Why don’t they just let Eva publish the book? We want to keep reading about Mikael and Lisbeth… I finished the 3rd today, and I REALLY want to know what’s next. I just love those characters too much.
- Rocket Summers,

As Eva was the contributing partner with Steig creating this Millenium series I see no reason she should not be given rights to admisister these joint colaboration literary projects. It would seem the family is more concerned about the moneys rather than the legacy Stieg leaves behind.

I hope she wins I think his story needs to be read.
- lisa,
Can’t they split everything three ways?
- Jk,
What a greedy, unscrupulous pair. After 32 years together, she should morally inherit everything. It’s the kind of thing he would have been appalled about, & may have written it into a novel (more injustice)
- Brian Butler,
They are making millions and millions, without having done anything at all to deserve them. I met Stieg´s wealthy brother some weeks ago at the Arlanda airport in Stockholm, Sweden. He was bragging about all his journeys – I pretended as though I didn´t know who he was. Understand he can travel anywhere he wants to now. He does definitely not give the impression of being the same bright person as his brother. My sympathies to Stieg Larsson´s woman, who – unmarried to him – got nothing…
- GF from Sweden,
It will be a tragedy if the fourth in the Larsson series never sees the light of day. I imagine (hope) that Eva would be able to complete the fourth book with the ending that Stieg undoubtedly discussed with her. That would be a wonderful and fitting legacy to an amazing author.
- Jan Borrell,
A very,very greedy, unscrupulous family!!Completely agree
- tom,
Give the lady her rights and let her dearly departed RIP
- Michael Drake,
Agree!!
- tom,
Give the day her rights and let the departed RIP
- Mchael Drake,
The Larsson family is very selfish & greedy!! The fans hunger for a 4th book. God bless you Eva Gabrielsson.
agree!!
- tom,
What a terrible tragedy – Eva Gabrielsson was his life partner for 32 years – does that not say something!! It always happens when there is money the vultures show their true colours. Dont know how his father and brother can sleep at night. If only Steig was alive today. What a sad time for Eva Gabrielsson having constant stress since his death which must be very hard for her. Lets hope that his “so called” family do the right thing.
- Sharon Wright,
Very much agree!!!
- tom,
well said!
- ~e,
give Eva what’s rightfully hers….. she is the one who shared her life with Stieg…. she at least should have all the rights to the Millennium trilogy and further documents, produced while she was living with him.
- Rini R.,
Amazing how two people can profit from something to which they had no input and cut out his life companion without a thought for the love, loyalty and support given by her to Stieg Larsson. It appears that Sweden is not at all the advanced country I once thought.Could it be that they are politicians?
- Peter,
Agree!!
- tom,
This is an ultimate bummer. It would be so terrible if the fourth book never gets printed. It seems to me that since Eva was Stieg’s life-partner that she has certain rights. In other jurisdictions around the world, she would not be left in the lurch. I wonder if there is anything we can do? Start a letter writing campaign to the Swedish government?
I feel great sadness about Stieg’s untimely death.
- Alexa,
Agree!!
I thought Sweden was a progressive country that recognized civil partnerships. In most of the civilized world there would be no question that everything Larsson had belonged to Eva after his death, if he did not leave a will to the contrary. What a shame.
- Amanda,
Agree!!!
- tom,
What a shitty deal for Eva Gabrielsson!! I agree with all the other people – Some people will do anything for money – even if they never earned it or deserved it!!
Just what there books hit upon – women’s rights!!
32 yrs. together in Sweden legally doesn’t mean anything obviously!!
I don’t know Swedish law, but what would have happened if Stieg had no family – would it all go to the gov’t?
- tom,
Stieg Larrson’s authentic life appears to be somewhat similar w his work. I was not even a fan until reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in 2013. …. I’ve only just begun.
- Diana,
Agree!!
- tom,
You would think that Stieg’s family would WANT further books published .. a continuation of his work. More adventures of Lizbeth and Micke and make it go on and on! The public wants this! Give Eva the rights! By withholding them, you are denying all of us the pleasure of a continuing saga…
- Sanda,
So the girl that Stieg had been shacking up with doesn’t want the money? No, she wants the legal rights to administer the literary property of Stieg. Sounds like she wants more money.
- johnny,
Considering Sweden is supposed to be a modern and forward looking country, it’s staggering that a partner, particularly one of such long-standing can be left in a situation of having no rights in a spousal position. In this country people would be in outrage!
Steig’s life partner must keep her position with regard to his Father and Brother, who he clearly didn’t have any relationship with – they are ambushing steig’s life and work for their own financial gain; it’s a ‘little’ obscene and pretty distasteful.
- Heather, altrincham,
Mr. Larson should of married her or left a will. If she were that important to him, he would have taken care of that. This is not Sweden’s fault or his family’s fault. The girlfriend was a room-mate with benefits. She’s the dumb one. If she helped write the books, why didn’t he give her co-authorship. This chick was him room-mate. He did what he wanted to do and “left” the money to his family in his own way.
- BobbiPratt,
He did have a will but it was unwitnessed. Sweden doesn't recognize (or didn't at the time) common law spouses. A big part of the reason why they didn't legally marry was because of Steig's (and her) very anti-right political views. He often received threats and because of the Swedish registry system it would make their joint information public. According to his colleagues at EXPO he felt this was the best way to protect her from backlash with Swedens neo-nazi extremists.
Let the 4th book be published!!! Please!
- smsmichaela,
Great comments. Agree totally. One question, after 32 years wouldn’t they be “common law” married? So sad that he didn’t think of what would happen to her if he died. If you don’t want certain members of your family to get ANY of your belongings, PUT IT IN WRITING!! Because the family members you can’t stand will prevail if you don’t. Stieg’s father and brother should walk away. They know that Eva is really his “wife” even if they didn’t sign the papers. Anything less would be disgusting.
A mess…but his partner should be able to have all the rights. Whether or not they made their relationship “legal” (piece of paper)…they were together for 32 years! Hello!!!! Nobody expects to die suddenly – especially at 50…and obviously, Steig was writing BOOKS…not a will. No-one chooses family…but we DO choose whom we live with!
p.s. the prior message to this one needs a dictionary – or just a lesson (or 10) on the proper use of grammar.
- Patricia A. Fontaine,
So very sad. I hope she is allowed to publish the fourth book the first three are brilliant. I would dearly love to follow the story on. The father and brother should not be allowed to control the work that was obviously intended to go to print.
- Dulcie,
If it were the other way around, would the Male be denied the rights to the estate?
- Pj Meyers,
Eva probably knows Lisbeth so well that she could continue her story for many more books. Eva is part of the Larsson legend and I can fully understand her motives for wanting to control the books. How very sad that there should be squabbles about what are surely the books of the century
- Mon,
Please print the book!
Greedy buggers. If she worked on the books with her life partner then she should have the bulk of the proceeds. I am astonished that this could be allowed to happen in Sweden.
- SueKlein,
I just read The Girl in the Spider’s Web. It started slow, had too many new characters, but I still enjoyed the read. If Eva is ever able to write more books, I would read those too.
